“Visualizing mechanism of transferring health literacy skills to the next generation”
Ultimate goal: To empower children to be able to control their own health
Research aims:
To clarify mechanisms how health literacy (ability to understand and use health information for health promotion) skills are transferred to children from adults.
To visualize the mechanisms for field application in health education.
Applied three-country research (Funded by JSPS, FY2019-22)
“Improving children’s health literacy in three disaster-prone countries in Asia: Implementation and evaluation of a creative health intervention”
Ultimate goal: To improve health literacy skills of children and strengthen their roles in the community in three disaster-prone countries in Asia – Cambodia, Indonesia and Japan.
Research aims:
To plan, implement and evaluate the “creative health” program combining medical, nutritional and arts learning activities, which uses a participatory approach.
To develop a “package of creative health education tools” as the final output of the project so that the program can be disseminated and implemented in much wider region.

ヘルスリテラシースキルの次世代への伝達メカニズムの可視化
最終目標：子どもが自らの健康をコントロールする個人的スキルや能力を強化
本研究の目標：学童期の親子を対象に、ヘルスリテラシー（健康情報を理解して使う力）の向上を目指し、親から子どもへ健康の維持向上に関する情報がどのように伝わり個人化（健康情報を自分のこととして受け止める）されるのか、その伝達のメカニズムを明らかにすることを目的とする。
実践3か国研究（科研・国際共同研究強化(B)2019-2022年度）
災害多発アジア3か国における学童のヘルスリテラシー向上：クリエイティブヘルス介入
最終目標：アジアの子ども達が主体的に健康と地域とのつながりについて考えられるヘルスリテラシーの向上、さらには地域復興の基盤となる次世代のキャパシティ・ビルディング
本研究の目標：本研究では英国のクリエイティブヘルス事例を参考に、料理実習や演劇などを通じて子ども達と一緒に活動する健康教育プログラムを立案・実践して、この介入が次世代の主体的な健康増進とヘルスリテラシーの向上、さらには地域の復興につながるかを学術的「問い」とし、災害多発地域のアジア3カ国で検証する。
